Went out with only the D90 and the 105mm lens, to get use with it. Not much to shoot. Here is my fence: http://ow.ly/1NgN

Rubis’s eye

   Posted by: fmeehan   in regular

I know I know, it is a bit childish to make pictures of the eye of my dog following the acquisition of a new macro lens.

It was pouring rain yesterday and could not go out to test my new toy, had to find victims inside.

I really like the lens:

A new lens: Sigma 105mm EX DG Macro 2.8

   Posted by: fmeehan   in regular

Done! Now I can do macro photography with my Nikon D90, I bought yesterday a new lens, the Sigma 105mm EX DG Macro 2.8.

It will take me some time to tame the beast, I am convince this will open the door to new photographic opportunities.

Below, 2 pictures of easter cactus flowers.

These shots were taken without a tripod, using high ISO (1600).

I kind of killed 2 birds with 1 stone. With its 105mm focal lenght, this lens is excellent for shooting protrait, as shown here with Suzanne, my beautiful sister in-law.

Saint-Patrick parade, Part 1

   Posted by: fmeehan   in regular

Another magnificent day, must avoid the shade it is a bit nippy.

Lots of people as usual, beer is flowing, the smell of illegal subtances fills the air.

The green color is everywhere.

Lots of green.

We had a taste of folklore.

A bit of technology.

And a hint of politic.

More to follow…

Waiting for the better species…

Not my favorite bird, while waiting for the more apealing birds to come back from the south, it is a good practice.
