Boats on the St-Lawrence

   Posted by: fmeehan   in Photography

The sunsets are incredible here at Ste-Luce, when we can add a little something, boats or birds, the image takes on a new dimension.

The 2 pictures below were taken without tripod, just have to breath slowlyyyyy.

Did a light process on them, basically just removing noise with Denoise 3 from Topaz. Mother nature took care of the rest.

The beach of Ste-Luce sur Mer

Posted by: fmeehan   in Photography, familly & Friends

Here is a picture that I find particularly rewarding, I had to stay put, in mid air, to achieve this one.

The beach of Ste-Luce sur Mer.

This is an HDR picture, meaning I had to take 3 shots and then use a special software to assemble them.

So here I am, suspended over the edge, controlling my breathing, be zen, click click and click.

As usual, if you click on the picture, you will see the high definition version of it.

Found on the beach…

Anonymous but willing…

The use of a long focal produce an interesting perspective.

A week passed by, we had some very nice days this week, here in Ste-Luce. Unfortunately, the rain has taken the stage today, the good part is that it provides me some time to catch up with the processing of this week shots and to write on the old blog.

So far, vacations are superb. My goals were to spend quality time with my partner in life away from the kids :-) , recharge my batteries by breathing the wonderful sea breeze and shoot shoot shoot.

We were seduced by the surroundings, Here, are headquarters (no. 17), Auberge Ste-Luce.

View from the balcony, to take an “apéro’ before supper.

It will be spaghetti with light red pepper sauce and “Shrimps sauté à l’ail”, and a beautiful landscape in front of us.

Took thousands of pictures this week, lots of good material to work with in the upcoming weeks.

After many hours on the road, here we are at Ste-Luce sur Mer, little village 20k east of Rimouski.

Ste-Luce is renown for its beautiful sunsets.

Today, we are going to discover the surroundings, do a little shopping for food and relax.

More pictures to come…

Vive les vacances!

Swamp, les Cèdres, west of Montreal

   Posted by: fmeehan   in Photography

What all the rain we have received so far, if there is one location that didn’t suffer, it is the swamp.

Did a quick visit yesterday at les Cèdres, north of the power dam, south of the Soulange channel..

This location, bordering a water treatment plant, was flooded a long time ago. Now, various species of bird made their nests among the dead trees.

I saw a nice Wood duck.

Not sure about the ones below, I believe there also Wood ducks, don’t hesitate to correct me if I am wrong.

A young Tree Swallow.

Et finally the silhouette of a young Yellow-bellied Woodpecker.

It’s a goal!

   Posted by: fmeehan   in Uncategorized

I am a little late I confess, this is the first goal of Val’s team during the first an only game on Sunday, in a U-18 tournament at Laval last week-end.

“Shooting” a goal is something abstract, what counts? the Goal structure, the ball or the goalie?

Of course its the picture.
