Yesterday we had a photo outing at Montreal botanical garden with a couple of Flicker friends. Felt so good to talk about photography with people sharing the same passion.

During the afternoon we came across a nice cormorant that was feeding on small fishes on a pound. A very particular bird.

As we approach the creature, we soon realize it was not “camera shy” and seem to enjoy the experience.

A bit after the session with the bird was over, I realized that I crawled on birds dropping…

This has been one of the best photo shooting of the year, Lulu Hughes “Live”, with only one lense, a Nikkor 50 mm 1.8. There are 3 reasons why I mention this:

The challenge it is to work with a prime lens on a moving target. No zomm no flash.
The quality of that lens, it is my favorite one
I don’t know of other photograph that do that (from my humble experience)

There is always a bit of luck. Just before the show, light rain started. Because of that, I end up 10-15 feet from the from the scene.

I am an unconditional fans of Lulu, she is pure “energy”. I did something like 200 shots (for 30 mins. approx). And kept about 20 picture at the end.

The show was last July, the reason it took so long before showing these images is that I sold the serie and wanted to wait a little by respect.
