Val is now 19, approaching 20, kind of being between 2 worlds: College and University.
The immediate consequence is that she no longer plays soccer and we dearly miss seeing our daughter in action. She plays hard, giving all her heart on each shift.
We really miss that. These images were taken on the last game we assisted. We sincerely hope it was not the last…

There was a cool celtic celebration on our last visit to Quebec City.
These pretty Demoiselles were practicing and old dance.

This is stealth photography. Sitting on the ground in the shadow of a huge stairway, no tripod.
In this position, people walking by would only see me at the last minute, if they see me at all.
Some were really surprised… When you got to shoot, you got to shoot!

For many years, our pretty Val played soccer with an unequal passion. She is 19 now and every week, all year round, she trains 2 to 3 times and play 1 to 2 games.
For a couple months now, she had develop an leg injury, both legs. Before each game one of the coach has to strap them with metal bars.
For sure as parents (and her doctor to), we would like her to take a good break. Since she is an adult now, we have no control over that.
And she is not the only one in her team playing with an injury.
She plays hard and she is a good player to watch.
What is the feminine translation for the word “macho”?

What a day yesterday was. We went through a series of emotions.
From a visit to the cemetery in the morning, to a reunion with a pretty old friend.
I didn’t thought I would do a lot of pictures, the occasions kept coming on.
I will have some nice pic to show this week, starting with William, son of our nephew Maxim.

Another one of those little magic moments. As we entered a store in Pointe-Claire Village (Montreal’s West island), we noticed this cute little girl who seem to be afraid of something. I engaged conversation with her Mom who told me her daughter is scared of one of the “old ladies” mannequins found in the store. I asked the Mother permission to take pictures of the little girl, talked to the young lady and after 30 seconds I knew I had something good “in the box”.
There is a lot of advantages to shoot with a cell phone in public spaces, for one, it is stealthier than a DSLR, folks are less intimidated by it.
I spent a good 2 hours in post processing within the phone, trying all kinds of different versions.
So cool to work with beautiful material.

I love to take those “impromptu” shots. We were going to see Valou playing in a soccer tournament, when we arrived on site I noticed in a window on the second floor, this nice little girl being held by her mother. Via gestures, I asked permission to take the shot and then got into the building to find out the two were italian.
Grazie to the “Mamma”, it was to cool the have a picture of the “Bambina”
