The more I make images, the more I want to be different.
When all people are taking fall shots, I resent to take some.
Since it is an important season, I that I can’t do that type of image in the spring, well, I guess I need to do one now…
Fall image: check.

Incredible!
Yesterday as I was shooting for birds with my camera, in the municipality of Notre-Dame-de-l’Ile-Perrot, west of Montreal, I witnessed the abduction of 2 girls by alien beings.
I heard a strange noise and my dog in total fear ran away in the woods. I turned, looking for the source of the noise, when I was struck by a purple beam of ray, I felt cold and that left me paralyzed from waist to toes. Still, I was able to take images of the frightening scene.
Tree bizarre faceless aliens were running in the field carrying 2 young girls. What seemed to be a disk shape vessel appeared suddenly in the sky in landed a few yards away.
A kind of door opened in the side of the disk, the humanoids creatures and their victims embarked the strange ship which took off shortly after.
The whole scene only took a few seconds. After a while, shaken, I regained the use of my legs.
My dog is still in the woods.
And suddenly I felt the need for a good glass of bourbon…

A sailboat takes advantages of a wind on that day, on the Saint-Lawrence near Quebec city. As we were on the “plaines d’Abraham”, very high above the water, I had a nice diving angle.
I cheated a tad, to my surprise, the river was “chocolate brown” colour. I like green better.
It is calm and peaceful, it feels just like that at home, after hearing the news for Steve Jobs.
What a Man he was…

A calm and relaxing image.
An ideal day, not too warm, a good wind, the sun, be Zen…

I have noticed that post for a while, it is situated right in front of my favourite “Dépanneur”.
Since I had my Nikon with me and the sky was filled with nice clouds, I decided that today was the day.
When you are shooting and you want to get the max from a session, you completely forget about the surroundings. In search of the best composition, I stuck myself against the post, then got on my knees, move back, well you see what I mean, it last a good 5 minutes.
When I finished shooting, I heard someone laughing in my back. Another client from the store just finish his cigarette and seemed to have enjoy the show
He told me: “Wow, you really take it seriously”, all I could reply was “Yes and it didn’t cost me much”, I took off, hearing the guy laughing still.

It happen usually in the spring, schools of shopping carts meet in deep water for reproduction and then, just like pacific salmons, they end up dying along the river shore…

A quick return to iPhone photography. This morning I found this incredible app: Snapseed from Nik Software. I am completely thrill by it.
At $5.00 it may seem pricey by iPhone apps standards, it is all worth it!
The UI is completely different from anything I have seen so far. There is 2 functions that alone, justifies the acquisition of Snapseed:
The ability to perform selective adjustment (brightness, contrast and saturation) on parts of the image.
The variety of variations in the Grunge effect is outstanding, more than 1,000.
If you do iPhone photography, you must get Snapseed!
This app also works on the iPad and latest iPod.

Essay on minimalist subject. Simplicity has a price, it took a couples of hours to realize this image. No complaints, it’s a lot fun…

This image was taken from the Aumais bay at Notre-Dame-de-l’Ile-Perrot.
In theory this is the last image produce with the Old Macbook, I just received my new Macbook Pro and will start to produce more images with my Nikon from now on. It just got to painfully slow to produce images with a 5 years old machine.
This is also my first production with Silver Efex pro 2. Wow, what a program, it will take me some time to master it, incredible potential here.
I won’t stop shooting with the iPhone, just slow down it photo usage. I learned a lot with it, having such a little resolution and not much details capabilities, it all about emotion in the image.
So tomorrow I will use the migration assistant to move all my data and programs to my new machine and then, my photography will take another twist…

Thanks for following me!

A small sailboat passing by Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. Reminded me of an old song that my Mom use to sing to me when I was young: La chanson du petit voilier .
