Incredible!

Yesterday as I was shooting for birds with my camera, in the municipality of Notre-Dame-de-l’Ile-Perrot, west of Montreal, I witnessed the abduction of 2 girls by alien beings.

I heard a strange noise and my dog in total fear ran away in the woods. I turned, looking for the source of the noise, when I was struck by a purple beam of ray, I felt cold and that left me paralyzed from waist to toes. Still, I was able to take images of the frightening scene.

Tree bizarre faceless aliens were running in the field carrying 2 young girls. What seemed to be a disk shape vessel appeared suddenly in the sky in landed a few yards away.

A kind of door opened in the side of the disk, the humanoids creatures and their victims embarked the strange ship which took off shortly after.

The whole scene only took a few seconds. After a while, shaken, I regained the use of my legs.

My dog is still in the woods.

And suddenly I felt the need for a good glass of bourbon…

Ordinary Seaman Meehan

We have been waiting for that moment with impatience, our son Cédric had his first permission since the beginning of his training.

It’s incredible how the army changed Cédric in such a short time, his posture, his self confidence, wow, that is something…

We took him back to the base this afternoon, once there, he put on his uniform so I could take a few images.

Our son looks great!

Rue du Petit-Champlain, Québec

This is stealth photography. Sitting on the ground in the shadow of a huge stairway, no tripod.

In this position, people walking by would only see me at the last minute, if they see me at all.

Some were really surprised… When you got to shoot, you got to shoot!

Caramel for a smile

Posted by: fmeehan   in Photography, people, portrait

During our last visit in Quebec City, I have found an excellent caramel at the boutique “Ô Petites Douceurs du Quartier”, 51 Petit-Champlain street.

I told the young girl that I would buy a jar, in exchange, I would take her portrait.

I even had a nice smile for bonus!

For many years, our pretty Val played soccer with an unequal passion. She is 19 now and every week, all year round, she trains 2 to 3 times and play 1 to 2 games.

For a couple months now, she had develop an leg injury, both legs. Before each game one of the coach has to strap them with metal bars.

For sure as parents (and her doctor to), we would like her to take a good break. Since she is an adult now, we have no control over that.

And she is not the only one in her team playing with an injury.

She plays hard and she is a good player to watch.

I was not supposed to publish this image due to the vulgarity of the gesture (it is called a “schocker” please consult an teenager near you for more explanation), at the same time I found something about the expression, a cross between “I don’t care” and a bit of provocation.

Since I like expression that are out of the ordinary…

It is shocking!

Like father like son

Posted by: fmeehan   in Montreal, Photography, Self, familly & Friends, people, portrait

Here we are, my son Cédric joined the Canadian forces Saturday. A big change in his life, in our life.

Before taking him to the base, we promised each other we would do a photo shoot, if there is a time when my son and I really enjoy being together, it is during these wild photo sessions. Cédric is not a model, rather an accomplice.

Furthermore, my daughter Val took the shot and my wife Lise was in the background, supervising, a real family affair.

We did the shot under a railway bridge in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. With our “look of the day”, tree flashes and a ladder, we didn’t go “unnoticed”.

To be noted, neither my son and I are smokers, it was part of my concept. Cédric was a bit “greenish” at the end. Thank God, he brought some Halls lozenges, what a nasty taste, berk.

The concept: Cédric wanted to make it’s entry to the base with the longest possible hairs, so the army barber could have a good time. I also spotted a wig at the “Dollar” store that strangely fitted the length and colour of Cédric. Bingo…

I can’t stop looking at this image, you will understand that it means a lot to me.

Good luck my Son, I am so proud of you…
