Caught between “les Cèdres” and “Pointes-des-Cascades”, west of Montreal.

I use the HDR technique to produce the photo above. Pablo, a good friend of mine, asked me to post the originals used to compose the picture, to better understand the process.
Here we go, the first one is exposed correctly, the second one is over exposed by 2 steps and the last one under exposed by 2 steps also.

Of course, I spiced up the final result.

The power dam of “Les Cèdres” is an old power dam, on the St-Lawrence, Ouest of Montreal.
I had this place in mind for quite some time. It’s shore, downstream, are not easy to access, it is a bit secret. Even on the net, I could not find a good picture of it.

Yesterday I finally found the way to get to the spot. I also took note of some good fishing spots. This place is not too far away from my home, a car ride of 20 mins. The last kilometers on a “real quebec country road”…
The place is magic, excuse the pun, you’ll find a nice energy around it.
Thousands of birds use the surroundings as a refuge, a paradise for bird watcher.
On the south shore, there is an archaeological complex , I will have to visit it this summer.
The dam was built in 1914. When looking close, it is easy to notice time has done some dammages on the lower part of the structure, the top seem to have been rebuilt not too long ago.

Must go back there soon, with the fly rod instead of the camera…

The Crows of the Ecomuseum are big, really big.

And very smart too.

NHL started it’s Playoff’s season, so are the ducks, chasing for a mate.

The male kept chasing the female when I was there, as if he wanted to pick a piece of feather in her “rear”.

There is a certain ambiguity in a wild turkey. Taken separately, some of its attributes are beautiful, but as a whole…
