Just found this new technique, (well, at least new to me) call NIR, for the creation of “pseudo” infrared images. A pretty cool process.

I love the touch of “unrealism” this brings.

Image of fall

The more I make images, the more I want to be different.

When all people are taking fall shots, I resent to take some.

Since it is an important season, I that I can’t do that type of image in the spring, well, I guess I need to do one now…

Fall image: check.

I have noticed that post for a while, it is situated right in front of my favourite “Dépanneur”.

Since I had my Nikon with me and the sky was filled with nice clouds, I decided that today was the day.

When you are shooting and you want to get the max from a session, you completely forget about the surroundings. In search of the best composition, I stuck myself against the post, then got on my knees, move back, well you see what I mean, it last a good 5 minutes.

When I finished shooting, I heard someone laughing in my back. Another client from the store just finish his cigarette and seemed to have enjoy the show :-) He told me: “Wow, you really take it seriously”, all I could reply was “Yes and it didn’t cost me much”, I took off, hearing the guy laughing still.

His passion for fishing is incredible.

So, he is well prepared for the toxicity of the Saint-Lawrence waters.

And he does not eat his catches, which are glowing in the dark.

It happen usually in the spring, schools of shopping carts meet in deep water for reproduction and then, just like pacific salmons, they end up dying along the river shore…

A quick return to iPhone photography. This morning I found this incredible app: Snapseed from Nik Software. I am completely thrill by it.

At $5.00 it may seem pricey by iPhone apps standards, it is all worth it!

The UI is completely different from anything I have seen so far. There is 2 functions that alone, justifies the acquisition of Snapseed:

The ability to perform selective adjustment (brightness, contrast and saturation) on parts of the image.

The variety of variations in the Grunge effect is outstanding, more than 1,000.

If you do iPhone photography, you must get Snapseed!

This app also works on the iPad and latest iPod.

Oh Buoy!

Essay on minimalist subject. Simplicity has a price, it took a couples of hours to realize this image. No complaints, it’s a lot fun…

What a nice week-end it has been in Quebec City.

We met good old friends from our Labrador days, ate wonderful meals, too short a visit.

It was the first time that we stayed in the Old Quebec. We will return in September.

I didn’t took a lot of images, that will be for the next visit. I found some pretty good caramel!

Back to the image, I use the HDR technique, hand held. This church is really nice.

I wish a good week to all.
